VentureConnect – Third Edition in June 2011

Bucharest, 6 May - VentureConnect, the platform dedicated to bringing together investors and IT/ online entrepreneurs searching for funding, will hold its third edition on 20 June 2011 at Hotel Intercontinental in Bucharest. Confirmed participants include Kenneth P. Morse (serial entrepreneur) and William K. Aulet (senior lecturer) from the U.S., as well as 3TS Capital Partners.

Building on its two previous successful editions, VentureConnect continues to bring together international and
local investors and Romania-based entrepreneurs. Thus, through the facilitating of direct contact between
these entrepreneurs and investors, as well as contributing substantially to the evolution of the Romanian
entrepreneurial and business environment, VentureConnect’s main objective is to provide the means by which
Romania-based entrepreneurs may successfully access international and local funding.

VentureConnect is expecting potential investors from the U.S., Western Europe, the Central & East European
region as well as Romania. Confirmed participants include Kenneth P. Morse (Serial Entrepreneur and
Founding Managing Director, MIT Entrepreneurship Center) and William K. Aulet (Senior Lecturer, MIT Sloan
School of Management and Managing Director, MIT Entrepreneurship Center) as well as 3TS Capital Partners
which intends to launch in the upcoming months “3TS Catalyst Fund Romania”, a EUR 30 million fund partly
financed through the European Investment Fund’s JEREMIE program and is aimed at Romania-based IT and
online projects ().

VentureConnect will be accepting between 9 May 2011 and 3 June 2011 submissions of existing projects from
entrepreneurs interested in obtaining a minimum of EUR 250,000 for growth and expansion purposes. The
projects template may be accessed at , with the selected entrepreneurs who will pitch their projects to be chosen by 15 June 2011.

“At its 3rd edition, VentureConnect is in great shape, and the EUR 500,000 investment in TJobs confirms
that we have responded to a basic need of the Romanian entrepreneurial community”, stated Ana-Maria
Andronic, senior associate with the law firm Biriş Goran and one of the founders of VentureConnect.

“There is quite a large pool of Romanian entrepreneurs mostly in the IT and online areas. While many of them
need investment, they also are hungry about getting to the next level of their business. They need to make
the step from ideas and early stage companies toward the international markets, a larger company, more
employees, a more ambitious strategy. VentureConnect is not only about getting money from investors, but also about networking and getting in contact with those who can take entrepreneurs to the next level”, says Radu Georgescu, Chairman GECAD Group.

“The private equity and venture capital ecosystem is still in its infancy here in Romania, and to date
VentureConnect has been an important contributor to its development. Likewise, with the substantial increase
of interest from investors to attend VentureConnect events, participating entrepreneurs are able to get direct
access here in Romania to major investors who otherwise would be extremely difficult if not impossible for them
to reach”, mentions Peter Barta, Executive Director with Fundatia Post-Privatizare (FPP).
